Squadron Service - United States Navy

The US Navy's Ospreys are to be used for combat search and rescue, special operations and fleet logistics. Forty-eight aircraft are required, with procurement expected to begin in the 2010-2012 timeframe.

The US Navy version was originally designated the HV-22B, but this designation was dropped in April 2004 and the Navy will instead receive a suitably modified version of the MV-22.
